Around this time last year, we shared a first look at Resource with you through “Who Supports the Supporters?” The report captured our earliest learnings and impact findings in driving nationwide systems-level inclusion for BIPOC innovators through local ecosystems. After completing the second Resource cohort, we took a step back to strategically assess, learn, and reimagine the initiative’s next impact phase.
The theme “Shifting the Center” embodies both the current work and future vision for Resource. It’s what the ESO leaders we support do daily in disrupting systemic economic and institutional racism. It also speaks to a shared vision when launching Resource two years ago: Normalize the growth and success of BIPOCled entrepreneur support organizations and the BIPOC-led entrepreneurial ventures they support.
Since 2021, Resource has helped 23 participating ESOs raise over $23 million in operating capital. In doing this work, we help shift the narratives centered on BIPOC folks, entrepreneurship, and innovation. This shift unlocks greater and more equitable access to opportunities and helps bring much-needed new products and services to the market.
