Visa Foundation and Village Capital are excited to announce the second and final cohort of the Greentech Europe 2022 program, supporting women-led ventures creating sustainable economic, environmental, and social solutions across Europe.
Washington, DC (October 27, 2022) —Visa Foundation and Village Capital are excited to announce the second and final cohort of the Greentech Europe 2022 program, supporting women-led ventures creating sustainable economic, environmental, and social solutions across Europe.
According to the OECD, simply increasing the rates of women's participation in environmental innovation “would help develop the local know-how which is required for a successful technology transfer across borders or domestically.” This interlinked nature of relationships between gender, climate, and biodiversity, must be acknowledged and women’s vital expertise harnessed with the same opportunity given to non-female led organizations. We already know that increasing gender diversity at corporate leadership levels leads to better climate innovation.
Within the next decade, we hope to see the positive changes brought by fulfilling the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Europe will be leading the way, and we are excited to be steering the call for those entrepreneurial solutions uniquely positioned to help solve these most pressing challenges for our more sustainable future.
Sustainability has the potential for incredible impact in Europe and these ventures will accelerate our work towards a more sustainable and inclusive system.
