14 Female-led Startups Selected for Village Capital’s Greentech Europe 2022 Program

Washington, DC (February 28, 2022) – Visa Foundation and Village Capital are excited to announce that 14 female-led startups have been selected to take part in the first cohort of the Greentech Europe 2022 program.

The initiative which seeks to improve the resilience and scalability of gender-diverse startups that are creating sustainable economic, environmental and social solutions across Europe will support the entrepreneurs across three investment-readiness accelerator cohorts, providing training, expert advice, and access to network support as well as investors using tools such as Village Capital’s Abaca developed to help their self-evaluation.

Speaking on the initiative, Village Capital’s Regional Director for Europe, Ben Younkman shared, “We are thrilled to be working with an incredible group of entrepreneurs and emphasizing the importance of diverse founders and participation of women in the sustainability sector to help close the gender financing and resource gap in the region. We’ve received incredible interest in the program to date, and are excited that these are just the first 14 out of 80 companies we plan to work with this year in an effort to build the infrastructure and ecosystem to better support and gender-lens investing in Europe.”
