Welcoming Reem Goussous to Village Capital

Written by Allie Burns | Jun 21, 2022 9:06:06 PM

We’ve been busy this year at Village Capital, as always. Already in 2022 we’ve launched or wrapped up more than half a dozen initiatives to support entrepreneurs solving big environmental, social and economic challenges – and seen some exciting exits and raises from our portfolio companies.

With all this energy, we’re excited to welcome Reem Goussous, our new Chief Growth Officer at Village Capital. Reem will lead our growth-related activities across a range of products, services, and geographies.

She will lead organizational revenue and demand generation, shape mission-related messaging and storytelling, and oversee the management of our strategic plan, all focused on growing Village Capital’s capacity and financial wherewithal to widen and deepen its global impact and achieve its mission.

We’re excited to get the benefit of Reem’s 25+ years of experience, which spans across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Reem joins us from Endeavor Jordan, where she spent the last five years as managing director, leading an organization that supports scaleups in the country’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem. In the words of the Endeavor Jordan team, Reem has “taken Endeavor Jordan to the next level through the multiple projects and programs she has initiated, aiming to create sustainable impact for Jordan’s entrepreneurial and investment scene.”

Before that, she was the Senior Manager and Lead Economist at Al Jidara, a consulting firm that provides economic, development, and management consulting services across MENA. She has worked as a policy advisor for the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation in Jordan, and spearheaded the establishment of several research and reporting units. She has established a strong track record in building strategic partnerships, managing multi-million and multi-year development programs, designing and implementing innovative and high-impact programs, and mobilizing ecosystem players.

Reem is an experienced and highly engaged board member of large corporations and entities across various sectors. She currently sits on the boards of the Jordan River Foundation in Jordan and the Capital Bank Group, which operates in Jordan, Iraq, UAE and Saudi Arabia. And she is a fellow alum of Boston University – holding a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Economic Development and International Trade.

We could not be more excited to welcome Reem to the Village Capital team. If you’re interested in reaching out to Reem, you can email her at reem.goussous@vilcap.com
