Village Capital, with support from the World Education Services (WES) Mariam Assefa Fund, today launched an accelerator program for startups creating inclusive solutions for immigrants, refugees, and communities of color disproportionately impacted by climate change in the United States.

The selected startups will receive support to tackle food insecurity and resilience by preventing food loss and waste, both on the consumers’ and the producers’ sides. 

Village Capital has announced 32 startups operating in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East have been selected to join the Financial Solutions for Migrants program, an accelerator for impact-driven startups developing digital financial inclusion solutions for migrants.

Mexico City (March 27th, 2022) — Village Capital, with support from Argidius Foundation, announced a new accelerator program focused on Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs), such as accelerators, incubators, funds, universities, and service providers.

Village Capital announced an investment in EQL Finance from its Financial Health Innovation Fund (FHIF), an early-stage investment vehicle funded by MetLife Foundation. EQL Finance, launched in 2022 and based in Baltimore, Maryland, offers a digital financial toolkit for working-class families, using data and gamification to improve financial health, literacy, and credit.

The new report, "What Ugandan ESOs Can Teach The World," answers the question “What’s working in entrepreneur support?” drawing insights straight from the experiences of people who are working with entrepreneurs in Uganda, every day.

Village Capital, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), launched a new toolkit designed to help investors and accelerators adapt their due diligence process to evaluate startups more accurately and equitably.
